Next Couple Sundays

Hey Everyone,

We have all done a great job at hosting and filling our slots in the last 6 weeks. I just noticed this last week that we are wide open for the next couple weeks. If any of you have any ideas or would like to take a round for hosting – like Christine for example :) – Please feel free to sign up. Even if you are like, what would I do, but I wouldn’t mind just having people over. Then give it a shot.

The leadership team (Derek, Tim, Christine, me) will be meeting tomorrow night to talk about plans for summer, etc. If you have thoughts or suggestions let us know. I know Bar-B-Que days are just around the corner.

Also, just a reminder for any of you who have been waiting for an opportunity to give to the joy box – remember you can give at www.canadahelps.org. Just find WestCoast Baptist Association and designate to the fund – The Open House. Try this link: Give Here

We still need to gather a few funds for sending Kyle to his retreat away.

hello all!

so this sunday we are going to attempt to squeeze into our place, and i will talk a bit about my recent trip & show a few pictures. if you’ve never been here before, we are at:

2566 dundas st (between penticton & kamloops)
ground level suite (door is at the back)

andrea & i will be providing the drinks (including indonesian coffee) & an appetizer.

unfortunately, for those of you with children, we can’t provide much in terms of entertainment (we only have a couple stuffed animals & lots of crayons), so if you want to bring something along that would be great.

if you haven’t been here before & need driving and/or bus directions, or if you have any questions, let me know. or andrea.

This Sunday & Sunday to Come

Hey Everyone,

Thanks to everyone for a great Easter meal and time together last Sunday.

The leadership team has come up with a plan for the next 8 weeks or so, but in order for it to work out we need everyone’s involvement.

We talked about how it would be great to give all of us a chance to facilitate our times together based on how God is working in your life, has gifted you in some way, or is leading you personally. “Facilitation” simply means that you come up with an idea, run with it, and lead the time while we’re all together (or get someone to do it with you). Some ideas to get you thinking: a night of prayer, discussion or meditation around a passage of scripture, watching a thought provoking video, connecting with God through music or art, sharing about your recent missions trip (Joey), discussion around a particular question, interacting with nature, interpretative dancing (Anna), etc. Derek K. is planning to use a Ted talk. We DON’T want this to be an intimidating thing, and the leadership team is available for you to bounce your ideas off of, and help in anyway that we can – sometimes the more simple, the better! The time can last anywhere from 20 min. to 45 min. and we’re still planning to begin at 5pm with dinner, ending sometime around 7pm.

Not only do we need you to volunteer to facilitate, we also need to organize where we’ll be meeting for the next 8 weeks….so get ready to share yourself, and your home! Below is a sign up sheet with dates, so you can choose when you’d like to facilitate, and when would be a good time to host TOH.

toh for Easter Sunday

Hey TOH,

We’re excited to celebrate Easter with you all this Sunday night at our place, 5:00pm. We live at 2602 Kitchener St.

We’ll celebrate together over a meal, some worship, and hearing the Easter Story.

In order to have a great meal together, we thought it would be helpful to have everyone sign up to bring something to share to make sure we have a good variety of food. So please sign up for one of the dishes from the email sent to the google group.

The Open House will be meeting at the Kehler’s this Sunday (21st) at 5pm. 1613 E. 4th Ave. Vancouver, BC (of course)

It is going to rock… bring some food to share as always – unless this is your first time with us, or it feels like it, because we haven’t seen you in more than 5 months :)

Kyle will be making an important announcement and leading us in a discussion about The Open House and changes with leadership team.

Hey everyone,

Due to the follow 3 items:

  • Olympic outreach tonight 8pm-10pm in Yaletown
  • Canada versus USA 12:15pm on Sunday
  • Closing Ceremonies 5:30pm on Sunday

    • We (Anna and I) are going to host a closing ceremony gathering at our house on Sunday night. So come on over by 5pm, bring a dish to share and let’s enjoy the wrap up of a couple of crazy weeks.

    Looking forward to seeing you all and we will be back at little nest on March 7th, 2010!
